MEET HTN'S FOUNDER
My introduction to seine gear preceded my greenhorn season on a PWS seiner. My then captain took a chance on my slim build betting a background in textile arts could prove useful. "Your going to be in charge of the net" he affirmed, "your a natural". Natural or not I found myself with an entire seine, in a backyard, without hydraulics... figuring it out. In subsequent seasons more nets stacked up during the preseason and having chosen all female help we jokingly became "girls hang tough", a name that stuck. While always having a female crew may not be realistic hanging tough gear is.
From years of seining experience I believe thorough design, appropriate materials, and regular upkeep are the key components of a fishy net. Hung Tough Nets is here to design and build your custom net or repair and revitalize your existing one. I take time in communicating with clients in order to understand the specifics of their operation and fishing style to ensure the resulting net meets actual needs. A seine is an instrumental tool that needs to effectively set, tow, haul and load fish so that the seasons potential can be capitalized upon. HTN's detailed net diagrams minimize the guesswork involved in dialing in net retrieval operations so that the Skipper can concentrate on the most important thing - finding fish.
HTN's is centrally located to serve Southcentral and the Peninsula at SMIC (Seward Marine Industrial Center) in Seward, Alaska. For more information about HTN's range of services, rates or scheduling please use the CONTACT page to get in touch. Let's discuss you ideal net!
